Along Came A Spider
Sometimes it's difficult to imagine what a design will look like on a garment. It looks cute in the picture, but what will it look like stitched out? Especially when the picture shown isn't the same fabrics you want to use, or if it's like the spider below, it's just an outline. We wanted to show you this cute spider that we recently made for a customer. She saw it on our fall applique page, and left it up to us to create. We think it turned out really cute!

Sick and Tired
This week has been a rough one! Last weekend, my mom and I spent untold hours trying to get orders filled. We kept hitting one snag after the other that it actually became somewhat of a comedy of errors! We finally got everything fixed, though, and were able to get lots done. Of course, all the extra time in the sewing room meant things on the household to-do list got neglected!
I thought I'd be able to make up some lost time this week, but the baby had other plans. He has been teething with not much problem until this week! Since Tuesday he has been running a low-grade fever, feeling terrible, and just not feeling good. I knew he was sick when he took a 3-hour nap...that never happens around here! We had to change our Wednesday night church plans and cancel a shopping trip, but hopefully he'll be feeling better soon. He better....we're out of teething tablets!
So needless to say, I'm exhausted! The house is still a mess, but we're going to work on that this weekend. Hopefully, we'll get to catch up on the blog next week, too. In the meantime, check out our Facebook page, where we'll be posting photos of some of our recent creations!

My Little Monkey's Wardrobe
Last week I spent some time plotting out my 10-month-old son's fall wardrobe. As you can tell, I love appliques, so he needs to be decked out! I also recently picked up a few pairs of cute patterned pants for him, so I want to make a few shirts to go match. Here are a few of the designs I'm working on for him.....
I'm doing the football truck in orange & blue for Gator colors on a jon-jon. The flag will be in the cute tri-check from Fabric Finders that also is perfect for Auburn fans!
I really think it's cute, and it will work for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Busy, Busy!
I don't know about you, but it seems that August flew by and September is doing so, too! Even though baby H doesn't go to school, it seems like since school started, time is whizzing by! I can't believe it's going to be October soon, but that means fall and all the cute stuff that goes with it!
Labor Day weekend was a fun one with family in town. Friday morning I spent quite a bit of time setting up designs for customers in Sew What Pro, as well as things for H (more on that tomorrow!). We have only been using this software for a little while, but it is such a faster way to get things done!
Church classes start tonight for us, so the whole family will be there....I'm even teaching 1st and 2nd Graders! H always has fun playing with his little buddies in the nursery, and it's rare that someone doesn't comment on one of his monogrammed outfits.
Our monogramming machine is actually in the shop right now being serviced, but we're hoping to get it back today or tomorrow. Wish us luck....we have lots of sewing to do!

The Big Day
Today's the big day....the one my husband has been waiting for (and reminding me of daily). College football starts tonight! Now, I'm not sure who plays...I think South Carolina versus someone. But I do know that there are some die hard fans out there for every team! Even though we are Gator fans, we live in Alabama, so it's a Roll Tide and War Eagle world down here and we love it! Below you'll find some of our newest designs to show off that team spirit no matter who you root for. Colors can be changed out to match any team, whether they are collegiate, high school or pro!

Fabric Finders
It seems like lately all we've done is run back and forth to the fabric store. You know it's bad when we made 4 trips in 5 days! We have picked up lots of new patterns, including the popular Auburn and Alabama plaids and new Halloween and Christmas choices. I don't know what is more addictive...new applique designs or new fabrics to sew them with!
